Save Game?

I hear that you can save your game anywhere you setup camp and that at some point upgrade your camp to spawn ammo. I don't know where this info came from other than Gamefaqs RDR board, but it sounds like a pretty good idea to me. If you hear anything else about this feature let me know.

You can deploy a campsite anywhere you want to. It can be used to sleep (saves the game and advances time 6 hours), fast travel, and start a campfire. You can also find other people's camps randomly generated around the game world at night, sit with them and listen to their stories (which will sometimes be about John Marston and his adventures).

You will also be able to buy upgraded campsites to deploy which will let you restock on ammo among other things.

I have watched the videos over and over is this just something i overlooked on the R* website?

yea where did this information come from. I didnt even know you could set up camps.

i picked it up on Gamefaqs but everyone made it sound like it's confirmed so i posted it.

Pretty much what Floppay said. Also, if you watch the gameplay series video. You can clearly see the button option for saving.

I think you can... How low and mean would that be, riding around at night killing sleeping campers.. awesome

Maybe keep it silent and just cut throats and grab some of their gear then take off on one of the horses they have.

I like it, can save game where ever i choose no more running all the way to your hideout like GTA.

Yeah, running back to your hideout becomes a pain in the ass..

I never did that in GTA4 'cuz it auto-saved after every mission, so I reloaded if I failed(or it didn't go the way I wanted, i.e. used too much ammo etc.)

I used to try n save a decent car in the drive. but by time i'd got to the house. my car was destroyed.!!! bad driving trying to save time . haha

There'll probably autosave too...

I would always go load up on guns, health, and armor after completing a mission before i save it. Its like OCD with me when it comes to saving on GTAIV makes it easier for me to jump on and just get right into a mission, but autosave is nice especially if your game freezes up after just completing three missions.

I do the exact same thing GTA, and it takes some time..

Yup, and there are also checkpoints throughout the missions now so if you die or fail, you dont have to restart the whole damn thing from the beginning again.

i am liking the checkpoints that will save so much time. I can't count how many times in a game where i had to run across the map because i forgot to save.

I hope they are intelligent checkpoints though and actually save at important moments. ie. before or after a big fight scene!

Good point, i was playing half life and got far into it when my game freezed(Glitch not console) up and manage to auto save it at exact time, Every time i load i am stuck in place.

that really sucks it reminds me of when I was playing grand theft auto to get the 100 percent achievement and I thought I was done with all of this one particular random character's missions so I killed her and saved, I later found out that I wasn't and that it counted towards 100% to complete that one lousy mission so now I had to start over a do everything again....fuck that
